Uniqwa represents uniqueness with a difference, defined by simplicity and function combined with art.

We design quality, thoughtful and unique handmade furniture, wall décor, lighting, and outdoor furniture. Giving our customers an alternative furniture option to assist them to create sanctuaries in their own home, a space to live in that they identify with on a deep level and ultimately feel comfortable and relaxed in.

Our ethos is simple; to supply design pieces inspired by nature and ethnic culture that fit into contemporary environments. Uniqwa is organic, earthy and naturally modern, with a subtle degree of difference.

We appreciate that there is potential for beauty in everything around us and it is the way we use it, the way we see it and the way we apply it that makes it beautiful.

Being eco-friendly, socially and sustainably responsible are part of our core values. We seek out materials often overlooked to create outstanding pieces of furniture. Reclaimed timbers and plantation timbers are frequently used in our designs. We strive to incorporate naturally weathered materials and off-cuts otherwise discarded as part of our design features. For example, our Klop range is hand made from remnant teak offcuts, joined together giving each piece its own unique pattern while utilizing teak with minimal waste. The Karoo Mirror is a one of a kind piece with a history dating back to the early days of rice paddock farming in Indonesia. We exclusively salvage timber plowers and recycle them for their unique shape, making each Karoo mirror as much a mirror as a piece of art.
